Welcome to Curate.Her!
Hi! I’m Katie! I’m so glad you found your way here and decided to stay! I’m a Philadelphia area native now living in Harrisburg, PA where I live with my husband, our son, and our 2 dogs. When we moved here I knew 1 person, wasn’t at all familiar with the area, and was a new mom transitioning from working to staying at home. Starting this blog gave me a creative outlet and a project to work on at a time when I felt like a lot of change was going on in my life. All good things, but change nonetheless!
What is Curate.Her?
While I didn’t hit publish until sometime around August, 2016, this blog actually started in 2007 when a professor asked everyone to describe their dream job on the first day of class. My answer was sharing the things I loved, places I went, and experiences I had with other people. I doubt I even used the word ‘blog’ because the concept was not nearly as mainstream as it is now! My instructor loved my answer and shared a story about a friend of hers who had quit her job, began traveling the world, and now wrote “an online travel journal” where she made her income. It may have taken me some time, but I’m finally doing it!
Curate. Her is a place where I share my approach for curating and living your best life. Everything from style, travel, cooking, fitness, kids, and beauty is a part of that for me! This blog is NOT about perfection, but rather finding a balance in your everyday life that allows you to enjoy the moment, look forward to the future, and not fret over what your life looks like compared to others. Sometimes that means a day was spent baking and doing a seasonally themed craft, and other times we don’t change out of our jammies and are splitting a can of Spaghetti-O’s for lunch. Balance!
