After living in Philadelphia for 14 years, I’m moving with my little family two hours west to Harrisburg, where the meat, produce, beer, and cheese couldn’t be any more local, but is otherwise a shopping desert. Being in a much smaller city has its pros- close to everything! affordable real estate! a little back yard!- and cons- goodbye GrubHub, (overpriced) juice bars, and lush city parks to people watch in for hours. Our new home has a lot to offer, inside the city and out, and the number of events within the community are seemingly endless. Keep up with me while I squeeze as much fun as possible into these last few weeks, and begin to explore the new city I’ll call home.
