Months ago I purchased a white Staub Dutch Oven, for which I promptly ordered a brass handle, making the pot look as good as it performs. When I saw just a few weeks later that goop- the effortlessly over-the-top lifestyle blog run by Gwyneth Paltrow- was selling a made-just-for-them Staub in the same color combination, I was giddy. First because it was hard proof that Gwyneth and I have the same taste in cookware (!), and then because I bought my Dutch oven on the clearance rack in Williams-Sonoma and ordered a $14 knob from the company to complete the look, the total ringing in at more than $100 less than goop’s version.
Now, Nordstrom has started carrying a line of goop-approved products in their goop Pop-In Shop, including the white and gold Staub Cocotte in a few different sizes. The 5 1/2 qt Roaster is the most versatile style, being large enough to roast a chicken or make soup, but still looks great sitting out on the stovetop. Have a small kitchen, or don’t do a lot of cooking? This 3 3/4 qt French Roaster would be perfect in a small space, looking very smart displayed on a small kitchen table holding cloth napkins when not in use.
Inspired by Nordstrom’s goop Pop-In Shop, I made a Gwyneth-approved recipe in my Gwyneth-approved cookware. From her latest cookbook, It’s All Easy, I made Miso Clams served over zucchini noodles (another Gwyneth recipe here). Zucchini noodles are seriously easy and SO good! Softened in the sweet and savory broth from the clams, this was the perfect light, but filling summer meal.
And yes, it was all easy.
